His comments and several others in the video were taken from the event Saturday at a Norfolk, Va., naval yard in which Ryan joined Romney to accept the offer to join the GOP presidential ticket.

"I hear some people say that this is just the new normal," Ryan also says in the video. "High unemployment, declining incomes and crushing debt is not a new normal."

The Romney campaign said it took in $4 million in the seven hours after Ryan was added to the GOP ticket.

Romney and Ryan are campaigning Sunday in North Carolina and Wisconsin.
